Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Psychology! I hope you have as much fun learning in this class as I have teaching it. Psychology offers a window into not only the thinking and behavior of those people around you but also ourselves. It is still a relatively young science and there is much to learn still. Since this course is an introduction, I truly hope you pursue more classes in Psychology later in your academic career.
For now, tell me why you are taking this class. What are your goals for this class? What do you hope to learn?

ReplyDeleteI am taking this class, because as a senior I would like to explore different fields of academics. My goals are to learn more than I know about psychology now. Also to decide wether I am interested in this subject area or not. I hope to learn about psychology and how it can negatively and positively effect my personality.

ReplyDeleteI took this class because I heard that it was an great learning experience. And that Mr. Yip is the greatest teacher for this subject. Plus it seems like something that I could get into. Learning about psychology will be fun and I am curious to learn about people that I would have never thought about before.
What, this class is psychology? I signed up just so I could see Mr. Yip for more than 18 minutes a day :D no but really, when searching for a final 1/2 credit class to complete my senior year, this elective drew my attention. It's reputation is indubitably great and it is a very cool and interesting subject area.

ReplyDeleteI am taking this class becaus I would like to know more about why people behave in certain ways and what affects people subconciously. I hope to learn a lot about the underlying reasons for peoples behavior, and how our minds work. My goals for this class include exploring the field a little bit to find if I would like to major in this field, as well as to get a better understanding of psychology.

ReplyDeleteI decided to take this class because my brother and sister both took this class when they were in high school and loved it. Also other people who have completed this course talk about how much they enjoyed it and how much they learned. I am very interested to learn more about why we act the way we do. I hope by the end of this class I have learned a lot and also earned an “A” so that I won’t have to take the final exam.
I am taking this class because I was told that it was a good class to take. I also had some friends take this class and they had some fun. I would also like to learn more about why some people act a certain way and why some people do certain things. I hope that by the end of the class I have a better understanding of the field of psychology.

ReplyDeleteI am taking this class for two main reasons. The first is that I have heard from many people that Mr. Yip is a great teacher and that the class is very fun. The second reason is that it is a new topic to me. Psychology is a field of study that I have never learned about. I figured that taking the class would expose me to the subject matter. I hope to learn about the different reasons that people do what they do and get a better understanding of people as a whole.

ReplyDeleteI've always been interested in human behavior, so I knew that at some point in high school I would want to take psychology. I chose this class instead of the AP course because it focuses more on behavior rather than the intricate biological workings of the brain, and because it's taught by Mr. Yip. I think this is a good opportunity to explore my interest in psychology and see if it is a subject I would like to continue learning about in college.
I am taking psychology because I am interested in learning about the thinkings and behaviors of people around me. Everyone that I have talked to has told me that Mr. Yip is the best teacher for this class and that he makes it very fun and interesting. During this class I hope to learn more things about physcology that I don't already know and see if it is something I am interested in making a part of my future.

ReplyDeleteI am taking psychology because I have heard many good things about it. Also, I had Mr. Yip as a freshmen, he is very fun and makes class interesting. When I found out that he was teaching psychology it made me really want to take the class. In this class I hope to learn about what psychology really is and to learn about human behaviors. My goals for this class are to do well and learn new things that I did not know before. I also think psychology could help my career in the future. After college I plan to have a job in the marketing field. With some background of psychology I will be able to market things easier by knowing how the human brain works.
I decided to take psychology this year because some of my friends took it last year and they liked it. I'm interested in learning about how the human brain works and why people do the things they do. I don't know if I'm interested in taking more psychology classes later in my education, but this class will help me decide.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple of reasons that I decided to take this class. The first reason is because psychology has always been interesting to me. To be able to understand how our brain works and why is truly amazing. The second reason I really wanted to take this class is because I have heard good things about it. The dream logs also caught my attention because I have always been curious about the crazy dreams that I have. I hope to learn many new things this semester.

ReplyDeleteI am taking this class because I am used to only taking business electives because I was sure I wanted to go into the business field. I wanted to explore something new, and everyone I spoke to recommended psychology. It seems like a lot of fun already, and I am excited. I want to learn about how a brain thinks the way it does, and how its even possible. It seems pretty incredible.

I know that I will gain alot from this class as well because I am already interested in psychology and I've heard great things about it. I might even want to take AP psych next year.

ReplyDeleteI took Psychology because i heard that Mr. yip is a good teacher and that this is a really good class.
While I am interested in learning more about the mind and how it works, this half credit elective drew me in because of it's good reputation.
ReplyDeleteDuring our second class you asked if we thought that most of pscology is intuitive. I think that some interactions and psycology is intuitive, but the more complex questions that need to be answered are what interests people in psycology. Also, I think its not only being able to predict how people will react to certain situations, but learning why people react a certain way is wwhat interests many people in pyscology as well.

ReplyDeleteI took this class because ever since i was a child I have always been interested in the way people react to things, ive always tested people and pushed my limits to see how people react to what i say and ask. So i took this class to dig deeper into the way people behave.
I took this class because I thought it would be interesting to see why we behave the way we do and also because I've always been interested in psychology and wanted to know more about it. I've also had friends that took the class in the past and found it very interesting.
